MIDSOMMARMidsommar and it's director, Ari Aster have become a divisive lightning rod for arguments in the horror comunity. We'll talk about character writing and creating multiple ways to look at someone, pissing on the ancestral trees and other inapropriate places, hallucinagens, "elevated horror," psychology students, paganism and religion, and folk horror being compared to Wicker Man. Welcome to SUMMERTIME MADNESS! We're gonna spend this summer discussing hot, sweaty, sun-drenched horror films that fit that summer vibe. Why? Why the hell not?
We begin festivities with one of the most iconic and classic horror movies ever made:
THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE
We talk about the descent into madness, the often missed humor, the equally often missed message and satire, the disgusting special effects, and how much one character in particular gets the short end of the stick. We'll also talk about the real life crimes of D4VD, raw meat on film shoots, hitchhiking, missing the bus on a long trip, and random drunks telling you too much about their bedroom activities.
Who will survive and what will be left of them? Find out as we kick off the Summertime Madness on this episode of STREAMING SCREAMS!

We recently ventured forth to the theater again, to check out Curry Barker's wide theatrical debut, Obsession! This was the same director who gave us The Chair and Milk & Serial, both of which we reviewed, and REALLY liked, in our 2025 Youtube episode. Funny enough, Glenn didn't actually know it was a Curry Barker film until the opening credits started to roll.
So, how did we like enjoy Obsession? Join us and find out!

Last year, a unique body horror movie made a pretty big splash in the horror community. This week, we finally sit down and watch
TOGETHER
Ironically, we watched it separately.
We'll talk about codependency, body horror, the emotional journey of a horror movie and how this one almost subverts the standard. We'll also talk about that time we were drunk and being catty just to be catty and accidentally were jerks to a musician Glenn really loves. Smooth. Real smooth.

Your Hosts

Jessica and Glenn became roommates in 2011 and rapidly developed a friendship that they would both cherish and everyone else would just have to deal with.  They've shared in each other's greatest joys, and helped each other survive times of tragedy and stress. Loud, boisterous, and easily excitable, they can often be either a great source of entertainment, or just a bit too much for everyone else in their lives when they get together.

They share a deep appreciation of horror movies, 90's industrial music, mosh pits and games.

Jessica is passionate about animals and works in cat rescue. She often has a lot of kittens in her home.

Glenn is passionate about music. He loves most genres he comes across, plays multiple instruments and has a vinyl collection of a size that can be best described as "irresponsible."
