A cult, a bear carcass, a month of nearly endless daytime, and the worst breakup ever. This week, we bask in warm, contraversial rays of northern as we continue with our Summertime Madness series! MIDSOMMARMidsommar and it's director, Ari Aster have become a divisive lightning rod for arguments in the horror comunity. So, in this episode, we'll ask tough questions like"Is this a 'good for her' movie?" and "is it acceptable to diagnose mental conditions for fictional characters, or people you don't know?" and "Is college for everyone" and "is it wrong to break up with someone during a tragedy, holiday, or other inconvenient times?" We'll talk about character writing and creating multiple ways to look at someone, pissing on the ancestral trees and other inapropriate places, hallucinagens, "elevated horror," psychology students, paganism and religion, and folk horror being compared to Wicker Man. Love it or hate it, this movie brings a lot of interesting discussion points to the table! So join us as we venture into the nearly enless sunlight of Midsommar!

We'll be joined by our special guest, transgender filmmaker, Katie, who brings a unique perspective to this classic. We'll talk about John Waters coded aunts, curling irons, the cruelty and crudeness of adolescence, frantic energy, sleazy camp workers, and gender expression and identity.

We'll also talk about the real life crimes of D4VD, raw meat on film shoots, hitchhiking, missing the bus on a long trip, and random drunks telling you too much about their bedroom activities.

We recently ventured forth to the theater again, to check out Curry Barker's wide theatrical debut, Obsession! This was the same director who gave us The Chair and Milk & Serial, both of which we reviewed, and REALLY liked, in our 2025 Youtube episode. Funny enough, Glenn didn't actually know it was a Curry Barker film until the opening credits started to roll.

Last year, a unique body horror movie made a pretty big splash in the horror community. This week, we finally sit down and watch

Ironically, we watched it separately.
